Hip Climbing Details

From my own experience, the idea of going up (or down) from a high heap of soil to the loading table can be a daunting operation. Those knowing no fear can appear to slide down the side of the slope with sparks coming off the tracks or bucket. However, those not used to super-hero heroics I thought I could offer my own recommendations at dealing without fear of this process.

Going up, simple. Use the bucket as a hand and arm to drag yourseslf up the hip and flatten out on top to load out. Going down is a bit different, but if you do this right you won't even realised you have gone down.Curl your bucket and put the flaton the back of the bucket on the ground beyond the square you have cleared for you to drop ontoand puch down on tokeep your cab level. Go slowly forwar, over the edge of the hip you have been on top ofthen gradually lift your main boom as your machine goes down the side of the hip keeping your machine level as you drop.
