Riddling Details

Wichelstowe is a residential development and urban extension of over 4,000 new homes with a supporting communit, on the southern edge of the town of Swindon, constructed from late 2006. Located north of the M4 motorway between junction 16 and Croft Road, Wichelstowe has three neighbourhoods: East, Middle and West Wichel.

The ground was a woodland area around drainage dtiches feeding to the Wiltsh & Berks canal with the stumps and concrete blocks of its former use. With the use of a riddling bucket and a root rake the whole area was cleared of all the rubble and stumps and presented for the attentions of a large stump grinder and chipper.

This was a really enjoyable job, removing the old stumps around the edges of the old canal and tributary ditches and streams.
